WC-ALL Mentors
The WC-ALL Mentoring Program offers an outside helping hand to Washington College students in a variety of ways. It was established to supplement the many on-campus support services at Washington College and draws on a pool of WC-ALL member volunteers who have agreed to put their experience, interests, and expertise at the service of the students.
One group that seeks the assistance of the mentoring program is international students who wish to gain further practice in conversational English with their mentors, talk about the cultural differences they are observing on the campus around them, or visit local places of interest with someone who knows the area. Other students who request mentors include those with defined professional plans who wish to converse with a mentor who has spent a career in the student's field of interest. Although the WC-ALL Mentoring Program is not a tutorial service, mentors with skills and experience in a particular field are available to meet with students who are struggling with a certain concept or idea.
Students and mentors together establish the location and frequency of their meetings and decide how long they want the relationship to last. To learn more about the program, contact one of the people listed below.
