Biography
Bryan Matthews grew up north of Baltimore and attended school at Friends School in Baltimore. He graduated from Washington College in '75 with a BA in Political Science. In 1977, he married fellow alum Susan Dunning ('75), and from 1978-82, he worked at WC as head lacrosse coach and assistant director of admissions. He went on to the US Naval Academy and served there as head lacrosse coach / physical education instructor from 1982-94. During this time, the Matthews family grew to five, with the addition of three boys, all born in Annapolis. Matthews received a MA from WC in '85. He owned and operated USA Lacrosse Camps Inc. from '82-present, and owned and operated Championship Lacrosse Camps Inc. from '90-present. He owned and operated Championship Enterprises from 2000 to present. He was hired as Athletics Director of Washington College in 1994. Bryan Matthews completed his Doctoral Program in Education in 2001.
